Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Saturday we ventured to the lake for Memorial Day weekend. The rain threatened to steal our fun. We didn't let it.
My family is super competitive and we played many games of badmitton. Dad bought a volleyball net and Chris measured a volleyball court for the game. It made the game much more exciting and exhausting.
Single Boy Chris came for the weekend. Monday night Colt said "Cis (thats what he calls Chris) had to go home to his mommy". Single girls are always invited when Chris is around.

This cutey is single too. He wants to show you his six-pack.

The toddlers loved the ditch Papoo built.

Wes, Heath & Chris continued the competition to the dock.

Some could not keep their hands off the little Yorky-Poo.

Don't be fooled, the boys cooked the breakfast.

We had a great time at the lake for the holiday. I hope our fun and excitment didn't surpass our thankfulness for those who have served and serve today. In honor of my granddaddy who served in the Battle of the Bulge, Happy Memorial Day!!!

Around Here

For Mother's Day (or Happy Mommy Day as Colt says), we went to the lake. Wes didn't get to go since he had a test the next day. The toddlers were brave enough to get in the water and didn't understand why the mommies refused to get in. Colt has decided he is a puppy dog. He is good at fetching and enjoys walking around with a stick in his mouth.

The combination of wet pants and lifejacket proved to really slow the toddlers down. I'm thinking about making him wear this when we go to Wal-Mart. Notice Bug's pants have completely fallen off. Being a bad parent & grandparent, we laughed at him instead of helping.

Baby Jack just enjoyed watching the excitment.

Warning: If the lifejack is too large, your child will not be able to see when she sits down.

Daddy and Annie Grace could have sat like this forever. Notice the new fence around the dock? While this may prevent unwanted visitors from arriving on boats (ha!), its really to keep the kiddos from falling in.

Dad does nothing half-way (how many people have 7 goats, 6 chickens, 12 pigeons and 6 donkeys in their front yard?). The above pictures is a combination of several rose bushes. It is beautiful.

Zayne & Elisa got married on Saturday! The wedding was at Terrapin Creek Lodge in Piedmont. It was beautiful. The above picture is from the reception. Mom went to help decorate and played nanny instead. Wes' aunts, uncles and cousins had not met Annie Grace and of course they fell in love with her. We are still reprogramming both children.

Yes, I do exsist. Only when Honey is around do I get on the other side of the camera.
Look for pictures from another happening this weekend (shhh, its a suprise!).

Throws Big Children

Recently my dad told Casey that I "throw big children". I'm guessing "throw" is a veterinarian term for birth. Annie Grace had her 4 month appointment today (she is almost 4 1/2 months). These are her stats:
Weight- 15lbs, 13 oz
Height- 25.75 inches
Head- 16.75
To translate this, she is in the 90th percentile for weight, height and head!
She still is the happiest baby! She sleeps through the night (which makes for the happiest mommy), laughs, rolls and wants to sit up. I think her favorite thing is sitting in her swing outside and watching Colt & the dogs run around.

Give Me Jesus

Wes returned from Walk to Emmaus on Saturday afternoon. He had a wonderful experience and I am very proud of him. We would both encourage you to go if you ever have the opportunity.

We sang the Jeremy Camp song below (I'm pretty sure this is an old song) at Emmaus. Today I am grieving with 3 friends that have lost babies. I don't know the details surronding all the babies but I do know how desperatley these couples want babies. They would be terrific parents so it doesn't make sense to me. I know each couple is continuing to focus on Christ through this time.

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.

You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

When I am alone,
When I am alone,
When I am alone,
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.

You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

When I come to die,
When I come to die,
When I come to die,
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.

You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.

You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,

Just give me Jesus.
