This time last year....

Was one of the best days of my life!! After 8 hours of labor and an epidural that stopped working, little Colt Miller was born! A perfectly healthy little guy that we had prayed for so long. Here are a few things about the guy:

1. When he was born he had strangely large hands and feet. He's grown into them now!

2. He loves taking a bath. We start swimming lessons soon and I hope he loves those as much!

3. He throws anything in his hands. Wes and I have been the victims of the throwing many times.

4. Sometimes Colt sings when we are riding down the road. If you turn around and smile at him, he gets really embarrased and starts laughing.

5. He head butts Waverly (the dog).

6. We couldn't ever get Colt to take a pacifier but he has to sleep with his blanket around his face.

7. He can sense a peppermit patty miles away.

8. Colt has already outgrown his Easter outfit (see #7)

9. When he's ready for a snack, he points to his food cabinet and points to what he wants to eat.

10. I"m wondering how many cupcakes this little charmer talked his teacher into giving him today!

11. He's amazed by cousin Ray, not scared of cousin Trip and always copies cousin Savannah.

12. I think his favorite person besides me & Wes is his Aunt G (Casey). He insists on her holding him when she's around. He also shows off for her a lot.

13. Last week, Colt learned to "cluck" like a chicken. This week he's learned to give you "five".

Happy Birthday Colt!!

The picture above was one of our many attempts at Easter pictures for the babes. Notice Flakey (the goat) in Savannah's lap and Colt is explaining Easter eggs to all of us. This was after the goat ran into the woods and was gone for 15 minutes. Never a dull moment.

Happy Birthday Colt!!!

Happy Birthday Colt! His birthday is Friday, March 27th so we celebrated today with a family party. We had delicious food and the weather was perfect for festivities outside. We did a cowboy theme (okay, I found cute plates at Smiths Variety- I'm obsessed with that place) and decorated with bandana tissue paper, cowboys hats and checked cloths. Some dedicated attendees even dressed the part!

He ate the whole cupcake and some ice cream!!

Looking for someone to spring clean your house? Colt doesn't clean but he will pull everything out of your cabinets for you! Thanks Cousin Savannah, just one of the many wonderful things you have taught us.

Mouth full of goldfish!

Wes killed a turkey today (opening day). It has a 12 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. Tell your husband, he will be impressed.

Let Me Introduce You

Let me introduce you to some of my family members- the four legged ones. Dad, Cousin William, Bub, Ray & Trip went to an animal auction in Cookvillle, TN last weekend. We have to rename most animal after they get back because William thinks its funny to name them after our family members.

This is Stevie. He looks like he is wearing sunglasses so he is named for Stevie Wonder. We got Stevie 2 years ago. We bottle fed him and he is very sweet. His best friend is a goat named Oliver that we also bottle fed. They sleep together and eat together. Stevie's real love is Wes.

This is Obama. He enjoyed following Heather around last night. He's very large and friendly.

This is Flossy and Sunshine. Flossy (brown & white) started the obsession with goats. She's the only one of any monetary value. Sunshine & her BFF, Spotty, lived at our lakehouse for many summers. No, they aren't pregnant, Dad just enjoys feeding them.

This is Snow. We have another horse named Bugar but they look just alike so you get the idea.

These cuties don't have names yet. They were recent purchases at the auction. They look like characters from a movie and are so sweet.

This is Tommy Tuberville. This rooster was in head of the farm so the name (was) appropriate. Dad brought a really ugly rooster back from the auction. His name is Bud (as in Bud Light Longneck- he has a really long neck). Strangely, my mother named. Tommy and Bud aren't getting along very well.

This little guy is 2 weeks old. He was born the day of the snowstorm. Wes and I call him Flaky because of the snow (and his father is grandfather). The rest of the family call him Beka McGhee because he was born after Rebeka Scoggins McGhee's wedding. Yes, Savannah is "giving him love" in the picture.

This post was getting really long so I left off some animals- 4 goats, 1 miniature mule, 1 miniature donkey, 1 pony, 2 turkeys, 2 peacocks, 4 guineas, 2 fantail pigeons, 5 regular pigeons, 4 chickens...

Happy Birthday Heath!

Today is our brother in-law, Heath's birthday. Here are a few things you might not know about the boy.

1. There were no nail holes in Heath's walls until he married Casey
2. Heath's best friends are the same guys he was friends with in junior high
3. If you see a LaFarge truck with shiny rims its probably the birthday boy
4. His daughter inherited his dance moves
5. Even though you'll never hear him admit it, Heath loves to cuddle with the yorkie-poo, Rusty, in the recliner after a hard day at work
6. If Heath kills anymore big bucks, they might start invading Casey's space upstairs. Even though she allows him to hunt, it should never come in the way of her decorating
7. His life is the redhead and the bug that invaded their life last year

Happy Birthday also to Melissa Douglas! I miss you!!

On a different note, I've caved...I joined the Facebook crowd. After 4 people told me in ONE day I needed to join, I gave in to peer pressure and joined. I would be most honored if you would be my friend. I'm looking a little lonely. :)
