Charleston!!

We had the most wonderful time in Charleston. We ate too much, shopped too much and stayed up way to late! I think we could have stayed several more days but we missed the mess out of the little guy! Of course, he was being spoiled by Honey & Papoo. Casey was even brave enough to take Colt & Savannah to CityFest!

We knew a lot of people at the wedding but for some reason I have a lot of pictures of the same people. If I was brave enough to post some of the pictures my husband took, you would probably get a better idea of who was at the wedding. I'll let that go for now.

Living Off the Land

So my husband dreams of living off the land. Many times I hear "I really should have been born in the 1800s". He digs tree seedling up from the woods, replants them in random containers and when they are sturdy, plants them in our yard (or hunting land) when they are big. In March, he "rearranged" the azaleas in our yard. One day, I came home to a huge dead square in the middle of our green backyard. Wes proudly announced we were planting a garden. So, we are gardeners now. Last night we enjoyed a head of fresh broccoli. Wes also picked lots of collards. Since I don't eat/cook/enjoy the odor of collards, Wes gave them to my mom. Of course, Wes' other obsession is hunting. If you stalk my blog, know me or have ever met my dad, mother, brother or brother in-law, you know we are a crowd of hunters. Heath claims he and Casey have not bought hamburger meat since they've been married. So, I guess if all the ecomony and world junk gets really bad, the Millers, Stewarts and Colleys will still be eating. Now if we could just figure out how to milk the goats.....just kidding!

Broccoli is ready to pick!

Lots of collards

Sugar Snap Peas! Yum!

Colt & Wes built a fence around the garden- it was simply an obstacle course for the dogs!

Poor guy

Our freezer full of deer & turkey meat. Friday night my brother said Jeffery Dahmer's freezer didn't have as much meat as our freezer. Gross

Easter and Happenings

Why is it so hard to get a good family picture?
It's been a while since I've posted and I apolgize if you stalk my blog. We've been busy but not with camera in hand. Colt has spent the night with Honey & Papoo (my parents) a lot recently as Wes and I had Rotary Night and the Grand Slam. Wes, Dad, Heath & Bub are still in working on the turkey challenge. Colt started swimming lessons and loves it. Dad had his knee replacement surgery and will get better if he stops pushing himself so much. Poor Mom is playing nurse for dad. Wes, Colt and I spent the Easter in Centre with the Millers. Colt brought the stomach virus home from school and we shared it will all of our family over Easter.

How Old Are You?

This is Colt's favorite toy from his birthday! It's one that Ray brought him from her mom's stack of things to sell at Kids Clothes Connection. It has lots of pieces that snap onto the little table. His favorite part is sitting in the table (where the toys stay). He is completely entertained getting in and out!
