Old Friends & Biscuits

Saturday we had a high school reunion (I know its 14 years, we are crazy like that). We did it at my parent's house so the kids could run free and the adults could attempt conversations. Wes, Shaun, Matt & Harry braved fishing with lots of little people.

Strangely they caught lots of fish and no one fell in. Sadly, I didn't take many pictures.

Annie loves riding the Hummer. This picture would scare me a lot more if Annie was driving.

Have I told you that I have my hands full with that little girl?

Sunday we took the toddlers (Colt & Savannah aka "Buggy") to the Montgomery Biscuits baseball game.

This proves that I do exist and I do talk with my mouth full.

These expensive feet belong to Casey. She was in charge of my camera and took many pictures of herself.

In college Casey had bunions (affectionately named "Paul"). She had surgery and now they look normal!

Colt caught a foul ball at the game and was super excited.

Really Wes beat 4 kids to the empty section where the ball was hit. Either way, Colt got a baseball!

Interviewing a Rooster & More

Last weekend at the lake Colt came out of the bedroom like this
DSCN3336
Yes, thats underwear on his head.

I feel like I am continuously answering questions about everything so on the way home from Honey's last week I turned the tables.

Me: What is your nickname?
Colt: I have lots. You call me Butterbean, Daddy calls me Rat, Sister calls me Bro-bro, Honey calls me Baby Man, GiGi calls me Colty and Papooh calls me Rooster.

Me: If you could change your name, what would you like us to call you?
Colt: Rooster

Me: Who is your best friend?
Colt: Buggy then Jack Mantooth

Me: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Colt: A daddy

Me: How many kids do you want?
Colt: None, no kids

Me: If you could be anywhere, where would you be?
Colt: In the woods to kill a deer

Me: Tomorrow is Father's Day. If Daddy could do anything, what would he do?
Colt: Sell our dog

I quickly lost my creativity and he went back to asking the questions.

We fill up the baby pool or turn on the sprinkler every afternoon.

This little fish loves the water all the time.

Kristin asked for a picture of our eucalyptus tree
DSCN3378
Its huge. I don't know when it was planted (we inherited lots of cool plantings with our house). You can tell from the picture that it towers our house. The tree grows in every direction and the limbs sag and break easily. It smells wonderful!

I want so bad to paint our brick. I painted the shutters when we first moved in and it made a big difference. Dad claims the orange brick is "happy"!!

Picking Dinner

Yesterday we collected more yummy veggies and fruit from our garden. We have peaches, blueberries, squash and tomatoes! Colt will eat anything that he picks from the garden.

Carrying the food in his hat was super cool for him!

Talent

I'm going to confess something. There are 2 gifts that God did not bless me with. Like it must not have crossed His mind when He was creating me because I don't have a single drop. These are rhythm and artistic ability. The 2 times we've watched our wedding video I have fast-forwarded through the first dance because it makes me want to hide. As for my drawing capabilities, I always go with stick figures. You know, the kind with a triangle for a dress?
Luckily, my friends love me in spite of my simplicity. One of my first friends at AU stopped by my house last week to pick up some clothes I had borrowed (no it wasn't Kate Kelley!!!). I offered her some of my zinnias in return. Check out her website .
